I thought it'd be fun to make a blog about my life in Oakland University's dorms. I am from West Bloomfield, which is only 25 minutes from OU. I just didn't want to live at home! I decided it would be fun to live in the dorms and get the true college experience. I have been living on campus ever since I was a freshman. I am now a junior and I live in Fitzgerald Hall. I've enjoyed it very much!
So, for my first entry, I thought I'd give everyone a little preview of what's to come! I'll be talking much about my experience living on campus. I'll post pictures, talk about adventures I go on, and discuss events I attend. For those who commute, you'll get a glimpse of the lovely life you get to live on campus :)
I commute to OU so campus life is definitely something I am unfamiliar with. I am looking forward to seeing what types of adventures you go on!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to reading your posts, as I'm a commuter to OU. I lived in the dorms when I went to CMU and it was a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteSince I have a family I do not have the option of living on campus. My commute is about 1 hour 15 minutes to campus. My oldest son is soon to be 14 and I would like to know what campus life is like. This way I can maybe encourage him to make the right decisions and give him good ideas of what he may want to get involved with to stay out of trouble.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for a blog!
Tina
I lived in the dorms my freshman and sophomore year, and I absolutely loved it! I can't wait to hear about everything that is going on there, I miss it.
ReplyDeleteChelsea,
ReplyDeleteI think this is a very interesting blog topic! I think many of us are unfamiliar with OU campus life, and don't see much of campus outside class. Looking forward to your posts!
I am glad you are talking about campus life, because I know a lot of people who commute don't think there is one at OU! Looking forward to hearing more :)
ReplyDeleteHi! I know a few people who live close to campus but also choose to live on campus. It is good to really immerse yourself in the experience!
ReplyDeleteWhen i first graduated from high school I was very eager to get out of the house as well, but unfortunately did not have such a wonderful experience living in the dorms. Glad to hear that you are enjoying your time spent at Oakland University and I am looking forward to seeing all the pictures and hearing about all your adventures!
ReplyDeleteI also live on campus. It is amazing how much the commuters don't know about campus life or the great events OU hosts. Looking forward to reading more!
ReplyDeleteChelsea! First off, lov eyour blog design with pink vintage wallpaper:] Adorable! And I am looking forward to hearing about the adventures of living on campus since I commute! Gina
ReplyDeleteI always wanted to live on campus because I knew it would save gas and it would be convenient. Looking forward to reading more about your time on campus! :)
ReplyDeleteI think this is a great blog idea! I too only lived roughly 20 minutes from OU and my parents didn't want me to live on campus. I ended up renting a house 5 minutes down the road. I'm curious to see what it is like to live on campus. I know that there are a lot of commuters so this blog should be interesting to see!
ReplyDeleteHi Chelsea! I'm looking forward to hearing about your adventures! I've never experienced living on campus. I went to Macomb Community College for 2 years and transferred over to OU and this is my 2nd year here and I live in an apartment nearby. I've always wanted to be more involved with campus life and that's one of the reasons I joined my sorority this year and I'm glad I did, I love it!
